About Us

Glitter Cymru, founded in June 2016, is a monthly meet-up for the LGBTQ+ Global Majority community in south Wales. The Global Majority term includes individuals from African, Asian, indigenous, Latin American, and mixed-heritage backgrounds, who make up about 85% of the global population.
Our group addresses feelings of exclusion within the wider LGBTQ+ community, celebrating visibility and resilience. More than just arts and crafts, Glitter symbolizes hope and validation for members, including asylum seekers and international students.
What's On!?
So Far...

Glitter regularly organises a range of events that promote pride and inclusion. From celebratory events and Christmas parties to cultural activities across Cardiff and nearby towns, the aim is to foster integration. We want everyone to feel welcome, while also promoting queer pride.
Trainings

We understand that good training is often essential for securing a good job or for dealing better with something in our lives. For this reason, at Glitter we regularly seek to promote a range of training opportunities to support our members. In addition, we can deliver training for companies on diversity, tolerance, support and related topics, helping those companies become better places.
Donations

Glitter Cymru is a volunteer-led organization that invests all funding into community activities. With rising anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric globally, the need to support the LGBTQ+ Global Majority community is urgent. Over 60 countries still criminalize same-sex relationships, leading to increased hate crimes. For 10 years, Glitter Cymru has provided a sanctuary, fostering community bonds and resilience through social meetings and campaigns.
